Another Use for SoyLicious Candles!

In addition to sharing the amazing SoyLicious candles with others, I am also an Avon Lady and an avid stamper. I enjoy making cards for other people. Someday I would like to have a big enough collection of handmade cards to open an Etsy shop or other web shop to sell my hand made cards.

One thing I do with my cards right now is swap them with other stampers. A group of 5-10 stampers will get together either in person or via the USPS to swap cards we have made. Sometimes the swap has a theme, and sometimes we just need to follow certain rules when making our card. I recently participated in a children's birthday card swap.

I received my cards in the mail yesterday. When I opened them up, they wreaked of cigarette smoke. It never occurred to me to look for information like that when signing up for a swap.

Have no fear! I have the perfect scent solution for this problem! I put one of my SoyLicious candle samples in the plastic shoe box I keep my card collection in! I can't wait to share my yummy scented cards!

Candle Abuse!

I had a guest over for dinner last night. She is also a telecommuter for my company. She lives in another state but she was called upon to travel to my local office for the week. I lit up a flowerpot votive and made it part of my informal centerpiece.

I think I must have let it burn to long. I also suspect my two year old yanked the table cloth, jostling the votive and spilling the soy wax all over the table! The candle was instantly rendered useless as it extinguished (nice little safety bonus!), and what was left of the wick went to the bottom of the flowerpot votive holder. It ended up looking like the candle had tunneled completely to the bottom.

I know that these candles don't tunnel and there was a huge puddle all around the flowerpot votive holder, so I knew exactly what had happened!

Next time I won't put the candle on the table with a table cloth!

What I LOVE About Balsa Wood Candles

I must admit, when I first heard of Balsa Wood Candles, I was a little skeptical. I just couldn't imagine what advantage these candles have over cotton wicks. I honestly don't know what difference Balsa vs. other wood makes (I will research it and get back to you though!).

What I do know is that the SoyLicious Balsa Wood candles make an amazing crackling noise when they burn. It's very soothing and I'd even say quite romantic!

I prefer to burn Balsa Wood candles in scents that give me a warm feeling. I don't know how else to describe it. For example, I would rather burn Fall Harvest in a Balsa Wood Wick candle than say, a floral such as Moon Petals. There's just something cozy about burning Fall Harvest with the crackle of the wood wick.

Five Featured Fragrances

With so many SoyLicious scents to choose from, it can be hard to decide which ones to try first! I know when I used to buy candles from a store, I would sniff so many jars, I got frustrated and left with out any candles at times!

I like to have a variety on hand. While I enjoy candles scented like baked goods, sometimes they make me hungry! It's still nice to burn them when company is coming though.

Here is a list of Five Featured Fragrances I recommend starting out with:

  • Almond Cherry: A luscious blend of nutty almonds and ripe cherries (our most popular scent!)
  • Coconut Lime: A luscious blend of coconut and tangy lime (I love to burn this one on the patio in the evenings!)
  • Hot Apple Pie: Warm, bakery aroma of a fresh from the oven spicy apple pie (having an open house? Burn Hot Apple Pie to increase the number of bids on your house!)
  • Lavender Spearmint: Invigorating combo of herbal lavender and cool spearmint (This gives me a nice lift in the afternoon if I start to drag.)
  • Oh So Happy: A hint of citrus, a wealth of flowers, and a mix of emotions in this popular perfume fragrance (I like to burn this one in my bedroom.)
This list of featured fragrances will give you a nice variety. I recommend starting out with our ultra affordable tart chunks or flowerpot votives.

Benefits of Soylicous Candles

To me, nothing makes a home more warm and inviting than candles! Most people enjoy burning candles in their home, which makes them an ideal hostess, housewarming, wedding, or other gift!

Soylicious candles are made from two types of American grown soybeans, with natural botanical oils added to give them vibrant colors and creamy texture. 100% cotton or wooden wicks are used in all of Soylicious candles.

There are many excellent brands of candles on the market today. I choose Soylicious for their amazing value. My favorite Soylicious candle is the beautiful and elegant 4 oz. flowerpot candle. It comes in a variety of scents, wrapped in an elegant black box, delivered to your door for just $5.95 plus shipping. These flowerpot candles will burn anywhere from 30-35 hours.

I enjoy these over-sized votives because they come in their own little holder!
